Thank you for being part of our Socrates Sculpture Park community!

Once an abandoned landfill, it was transformed in 1986 by a coalition of artists and community members, under the leadership of renowned artist Mark di Suvero, into an open studio and exhibition space for artists. Today, Socrates is a premier outdoor site for art and culture, and the only New York City public park dedicated to supporting artists in the production and presentation of public art.

You know what makes Socrates unique and support from Park fans like you is at the heart of all the cultural programming, exhibitions, performances, arts education, and creative expression we offer to you and the more than 200,000 visitors who come through the Park each year.
